Independent Homestay Program in Nigeria

The Independent Homestay Program in Nigeria promotes cultural immersion and gives you the opportunity to learn the culture of your host community and the way of life of its people. On arrival in Nigeria, you will be overwhelmed by warmth and friendliness of the people and by the many attractions and tourist sites in the country. You will have memorable experiences throughout your stay.

Nigerian hosts with guestPlacements are made in the southwest of Nigeria, where there is a mix of both modern and traditional ways of life. Host families placements are located in Ibadan, Abeokuta, IIesa, and Ijebu Ode, with more placement areas currently under development. The cities are vibrant like any other city the world over, and the rural areas are quieter, simpler and a place where you can experience more traditional Nigerian life.

The homestay promotes intercultural exchange and also establishes a long-lasting relationship between you and the family members. Our home stay will give you the unique opportunity to experience the Nigerian way of life, to learn the rich language of the family where you will be staying, and understand the culture of the people within the community.

Typical activities include practicing your language skills, or attending a ceremony or family celebration. You will also have the opportunity to explore the community in which you live and to visit local attractions.
