Impact by the Numbers
Programs Abroad
Experiment programs abroad are developed around select focus areas—with options for interning and/or earning college credit through SIT—that enhance your experience in any location. We work with an extensive network of educators, homestay coordinators, and local guides to design and adapt each program abroad. These deep ties to local communities mean you will have unique opportunities to learn languages and cultures. Through homestays and other immersive activities, you’ll develop empathy, flexibility, and resilience that will serve you throughout your career and life.
Following The Experiment abroad:
Data is according to a recent publication by Dr. Alvino E. Fantini (Intercultural Communicative Competence in Educational Exchange: A Multinational Perspective, Routledge, 2019), based on research conducted by members of the Federation of The Experiment in International Living, in which qualitative and quantitative data were collected from 2,000+ students of The Experiment and SIT Study Abroad programs.
My experience went above and beyond my expectations. I will always remember and cherish the bonds formed with my group members, the time I spent playing with my host sisters. I value nothing more than these connections; connections that cross cultural barriers, linguistic challenges, connections that I hope will stay strong. I’ve learned how to approach a situation with an open mind, soaking up all that an experience has to offer. Without preconceived expectations, you can learn so much more.

Following The Experiment Digital:
I realized that I could lead a group of people that I have never met or heard of before along with connecting with them on a personal level. I met a lot of new people and friends and learned a ton about varying cultures all across the world.
